Styling Tips
- Structured Silhouettes: Leverage Dupion Silkās crisp drape by going for tailored silhouettesālike structured pleats in sarees, sharp paneling in kurtas, or well-fitted lehengasāthat highlight the fabricās body.
- Minimalist Accents: Let the batik patterns shine. Pair with subtle gold or oxidized silver jewelry, such as slim jhumkas or a simple neckpiece to complement without overpowering.
- Layer smartly: For dupattas, layer over a solid-toned outfitālike an ivory or pastelsāto enhance the batik's contrast.
- Modern Fusion: Style a dupion silk batik kurta with cigarette pants or a dupatta draped over western wear for an elegant Indo-western twist
Wash & Care Instructions
Dry Clean Recommended ā Due to the delicate nature of both Dupion Silk and batik dye techniques, dry cleaning is always safest.
If Hand-Washing (With Caution):
- Use cold or lukewarm water and a silk-appropriate, pH-neutral detergent (e.g., Woolite, or mild baby shampoo). Avoid enzyme-based detergents
- Gently submerge and swirlāavoid wringing or scrubbing to maintain the fabricās integrity.
- Rinse thoroughly, and roll in a towel to blot excess water without twisting.
- Air dry in shadeāavoid heat, dryers, or direct sunlight that may fade or damage silk fibers.
- Ironing: Use low to medium heat. Preferably iron inside-out or place a pressing cloth over the fabric to preserve luster. For best results and minimal risk, professional pressing is recommended.
