Wash & Care Instructions

Dupion silk is beautiful — but delicate. Here’s how to preserve its texture, print, and sheen:

Dry clean preferred
For screen‑print and premium dupion silk, dry cleaning is the safest to maintain colour, texture, and shape.
Hand wash if necessary

Use cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent specially formulated for silk.
Gently agitate; do not rub harshly or twist. Avoid soaking for too long.
After washing, rinse well with cold water. Optionally, a very light vinegar rinse helps neutralize detergent residue.

Drying

Lay flat or drape over a clean towel to soak up excess water; roll gently (do not wring).
Always dry in shade; direct sunlight can fade prints and weaken silk.

Ironing & Pressing

Iron inside‑out or use a pressing cloth. Use the lowest heat setting suitable for silk.
Steam carefully, but avoid wet steam directly on the print or slubbed texture. Spot test if unsure.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, preferably in breathable fabric bags (cotton / muslin) rather than plastic.
Avoid hanging very heavy dupion garments for long periods (may stretch); fold with tissue paper to preserve shape.

Avoid exposure to perfume / deodorant / moisture
